Kristofer Gryte, is the Founder and CEO of Emaji. Kris is a philosopher, scientist, and all-around techie. Having a voracious thirst for knowledge, he was not content studying only one, or even two subjects, for his first degree: he majored in three (physics, mathematics, philosophy) and tacked on a minor (biology) for good measure. While attempting to uncover the ultimate truths of reality, he also embraced social activism, participating in programs to aid the urban homeless, teaching in Kenya, and running a student leadership program. Currently a DPhil candidate at Oxford University mining data and using statistical analysis to study DNA-protein dynamics, his research is at the forefront in understanding fundamental biological processes underpinning gene regulation. In between late nights spent performing experiments, he has developed an integrated software package for robust, automated data analysis. Outside of his research, he helps consult a Kenyan MFI on improving operations and optimizing their portfolio and is currently designing their website.
